Dr. R A Gani D.Sc.
Dr. R A Ghani engineer, scientists, administrator and management expert, social work organizer and a politician. He has obtained his B.Sc. engineering from Dhaka Engineering College (Now BUET) in 1952, MS from University of California, Berkley in 1963, and Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) from Washington University, Saint Louise, Missouri, USA.

As a self made man Dr. Ghani acquired considerable back ground in engineering, science and mathematics' and possesses broad diversified experience in engineering works, conventional and nuclear at home and abroad. He is pioneer in consulting engineering profession in the country. Ganibangla Ltd. (formerly Brixton and Brixton) established by him in 1953 is the oldest consulting firm in the country.

Dr. Ghani has been associated with several professional institutions and service organization; c.f. MASCE, MACI, MAIABSE, FIEB, Asiatic Society, National Heart Foundation, Diabetic Society, founder president of Rotary Club of Dhaka Midtown, Red Crescent Society, founder Chairman of Prime Bank, Chairman of Centre for National Culture Trustee Board, Founder of R. A. Gani School and College, R. A. Gani Shishu Niketan (Kindergarten), Ayun-Mallik Dakhil Madrasa, Mosques, Orphanages, member of Technical Education Board, PATC, etc. He was Director of Bangladesh Bank. He is an Arbitrator for ICC, Paris. He is the founder Chairman of Ganibangla Group comprising Ganibangla Ltd., Ganibangla Electronics & Computers Limited. He is the founder trustee of Kasirunnessa Foundation & Center for National Culture Trust. He likes music and sports; Golf, Billiard, Chess. He ones became champion in County Golf Tournament in USA. Hobby: Reading, Photography and Traveling.

Dr. Ghani headed many delegations to UNO, UNDP, GATT, TCDPAP, ASPAC, ESCAP, Group of 77, etc. He had unique opportunity to preside over a plenary session of UN conference on Science & Technology for Development' in Vienna. He was elected Member of Parliament and was Minister of state for Science and Technology. Participated in Bangla Language Movement of 1952, Peoples Upsurge of 1969 and Liberation War of 1971.
